Bill Lifsey was the previous attorney for Lamar County. He is also the preferred real estate attorney used by both the Fire Chief Douglass Matthews, and Alex Brian Abernathy.

Bill Lifsey was the Attorney for the County of Lamar during our attempt to save our farm from a solar power plant. During that time, Lifsey represented both the county and [Brian Alex Abernathy]({{%ref "Brian Alex Abernathy" %}}) at the same time, which mostly to anyone would agree is presents a conflict of interest. We know this, because we received a letter in the mail stating as much. 

So, Chief Douglas Matthews, satisfied all the requirements according to state law to be considered illegally acting as an unaffiliated and unlicensed Real Estate Broker.[Citation Needed] Lifsey was the attorney who processed the sale of the properties involved, allowing the real estate sale to take place.
