On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, a successful phone call was made to the local branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and we were able to talk to one of the local agents there. The gentleman was polite and empathetic to what had happened to us, but informed us that the Federal Bureau of Investigations "cannot just investigate anything it wants", and declined to help us. This was in light of the fact, the FBI had recently opened an investigation into the disappearance of federal funds from the local landfill that by comparison didn't involve anywhere near the same amount of illegal activities and potentially involved a similar if not greater amount of lost public funds.
